Look what the mail lady delivered!

Hooray!! Finally my order from the ONS finally arrived. I purchased some GAST and NPS threads, a Mill Hill treasure, a Star De-Tailor and lots of charts.

From LHN - Season of Growth, Season of Hope, Season of Plenty, Season of Rest, Autumn Harvest, Heart and Home Sampler, Needlebook and Fob and finally Chocolate Box.

I also purchased my charts for the Me, Myself and I Round Robin. Their Song and Where My Heart Blooms by Blackbird Designs.

Hopeful by Carriage House Samplings, Pear Orchard Farm by Barrick Samplers, Peace by Birds Of A Feather.

The Good Neighbour by The Drawn Thread, Friendship Sampler by Hillside Samplings and Fruit of the Spirit by Plum Street Samplers.

I also received a lovely card and gift voucher for The Stitching Post from the lovely Kathy. Thank you Kathy for your generosity, it's a wonderful gift and I am sure that I will easily find something that I need.

I also received the missing button for my Lizzie*Kate "Bless the Baby" from Cathy. Thank you so much Cathy, I can now complete this design and I promise to share a picture as soon as it's finished.

Finally, I received Barnabee's Bride, which I have been looking for around the place, for ages. I had been told they had been sold out and I was so disappointed. Then the day before Amelie was born, one appeared on eBay. My lovely husband bid on my behalf and purchased this for me. Isn't he a sweetheart.

Thank you to everyone who has left such lovely comments regarding the birth of my beautiful daughter. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful blogging friends.

One week on..

I have been home with Amelie for a week now and we are having trouble getting her to settle in. She sleeps relatively well during the day, but spends most of the night grunting and crying away in bed, keeping both DH and myself awake. The last few night I don't think I have had more than a few hours sleep. She wants to be fed every two hours and sometimes every hour, even though at each feed, she is completely full. I know that I had all the same problems with Aurelia, but a 2 o'clock in the morning it's had to recall those times. In a few weeks, I am sure that she will be fine and settle down quite well, but in the meantime it's really difficult to see that.

I have been stitching a real lot in the last week and in hospital, but as they are all secret stitching, there are no photos. I have finished my stitching for the Hooked On Exchanging floss tag exchange. I have actually stitched a lot more than I had to, because a small floss tag looked like a very inadequate exchange item. I am almost three quarters of the way through my Hooked On Exchanging Christmas ornament exchange item as well. I am a little disappointed with it, as I was waiting on some hand-dyed threads to arrive from an ONS, but they still haven't arrived, so I have had to substitute DMC threads.

Finally, my Lizzie*Kate 'Bless The Baby' is just waiting on one thread to arrive with my order and then it's completed. I made a big boo boo with this one, I ordered a JABC leaping bunny button to sew on it, but it's too big. I should have ordered the smaller one. To order another one, I have to pay too much postage to bother (postage is the same if I order a single button or a huge package of items). So I have a proposal, is anyone willing to swap a JABC bunny button (NH1009.L) for a smaller JABC bunny button (NH1009.S)?

I am about to make a start on my Fair & Square Round #10 design. It requires some Vicki Clayton Hand-Dyed Threads, but with the Australian dollar so weak, the cost has become prohibitive, so once again I am going to have to substitute with DMC. So I apologise to my partner in advance.

A Picture At Last!!

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes. I am so grateful for having such wonderful blogging friends.

I arrived back from the hospital this morning and I am so relieved to be home, I can finally get some peace and quiet. Aurelia is also very pleased that I am home as I think she has missed me so much. The birth went really well and was only six hours long from start to finish. Amelie somehow got all tangled up in her umbilical cord. It was wrapped around her arm, leg and around her neck like a scarf, but she was quite fine.

Here is a picture of our beautiful new girl Amelie Capucine and a picture of my two girls having a cuddle.

The new arrival

Folks, DH here. Suzanne has told me that you have all been waiting patiently for her to have the baby.

Well, Yesterday morning at 6:15am Sydney time a little girl named Amelie Capucine was brought into the world. She weighed 3.54Kg (7lb-13oz) and is 49cm tall.

Mum and Baby are both doing very well although Suzanne is exhausted as you would expect. I am on 2yo duty and having rings run around me. I respect Suzanne even more now....only a couple of days to go till she is back home...phew.

A picture will probably be posted in the next couple of days.

Yes, I am still waiting for this baby to arrive. It's now over due and I have had enough! I saw the doctor yesterday and he seems to think it should arrive very soon, but that's what happened last time with my daughter and she was 10 days late. At least the house is all clean and all the chores have been done. This is leaving me with plenty of stitching time.
I can't really show any of my stitching as I have been working on my exchanges for the Hooked On Exchanging Floss Tag exchange and Christmas Ornament exchange. I have finished the floss tag and am now stitching a few little extras to go with the package. I have selected the Christmas ornament pattern and hope to start it today some time.
I have stitched as much as I possibly can on my Lizzie*Kate 'Bless The Baby' design, but I am still waiting on some of the threads to arrive. I suppose that's OK, as I can't stitch any of the details until this baby arrives anyway!

Another finish and a new start.

Despite the yucky warm weather and my intolerable sweaty hands, I have been able to make a small finish. I decided to finish this piece off as a pillow and have sewn a crystal bead in the centre. I am still not sure of the bead, as I tried a button, but didn't have a button small enough to fit this design. I suppose it's too late to change my mind now.

Design: Lovebird
Designer: Midsummer Nights Design (freebie found here)
Fabric: 32ct Belfast linen - Vintage Country Mocha
Thread: DMC and Mill Hill Beads
Finish: Pillow

I have also made a start on my Lizzie*Kate 'Bless The Baby' even though I don't have all the threads for it yet. I made an order about a month ago and I am still awaiting the package to be posted, apparently there is a problem with an out of stock button. I have decided to use 32ct linen lambswool linen instead of 28ct, so it's going to be a little bit smaller and then I am going to finish it as a hanging ornament, so that it can hang on the wall in the babies room. I have no photo of this one yet, but I will post one when there is a good amount of stitching to show.
