A Finish!!!

I cannot possibly tell you how much I detest the weather at the moment. It looks like another hot week ahead of us and a very hot weekend. The worst part is that Amelie is having her baptism on the following Sunday and I have nearly thirty people coming for lunch. With weather predicted to be 43C (109F) we can no longer have the lunch outside, so I will have to squash all these poor people into the house. Most of them will be in the kitchen with the remainder spread throughout the house. I dread having to prepare the salads and meal with all these people milling about the kitchen. I booked everything over a month ago, but never thought it would be this hot.

This is my January biscornu finished for the Basket of Biscornu SAL. I have chosen a Halloween theme because I just love the colours and it was a quick and easy stitch.

More than 40°C, now this is really, really hot. I even can't imagine these temperatures, for me even 30°C is more than I can stand. I hope for you that is will get a bit cooler soon.

Your biscornu is cute and it was certainly a lot of fun to stitch it.

Sorry to hear about the heat, Suzanne. It sounds miserable for it to be sooo hot. You biscornu looks great. I haven't gotten the nerve to try one of those yet.

Hi, I saw your biscornu over on the basket of biscornu blog, very nicely stitched and finished. I really like the colours too.

I love that biscornu! You stitched it up beautifully. I stitched it once for an exchange and plan to stitch it for one of my BoB choices this year.

So sorry to hear it's been sweltering down there. Hope baptism day isn't so horrible that you don't enjoy it.

That is SO adorable!! You did a great job--the stitching and finishing are both wonderful. I hope the baptism day goes well & that the heat abates a bit for you!

Hi Suzanne,
Yes I agree with you that this hot weather really stinks. When I stitch at the moment I have a cold wet face washer that I am continually using. Not looking forward to tomorrow, or especially Friday afternoon when I will probably have to meet my husband in Penrith to doing the weekly shopping.
I always remember being in Penrith Hospital or 10 days when I had my second son 21 years ago in about 2 weeks. It was unbearable. There was no air conditioning in the room when I was. He was lucky as he was in Intensive Care which was and I spent most of my time there. You couldn't sleep at night there.
That is one good thing about the mountains. We always have a good nights sleep in summer.
You poor thing. I feel very sorry for you having all those people for the Christening. Hopefully there might be a nice change in the weather for you, but somehow I don't think so.
I love your Biscornu. Does Aurelia love the witches.
By the way, I really love the squares that Daniela sent you. I would love to see the samper that she used to get the pattern of. Quite Beautiful.
Anyway, I will continue to be like Mr. Mole from The Wind in the Willows (or that's what it feels likeat the moment). I currently have all the doors, windows and curtains closed. The house is quite dark. If I see Mr Ratty come in though I think I will freak out LOL. take care = Sandra.
