Aurelia Turns Five!

Thank you so much for all the wonderful and encouraging comments and emails I received. The day I wrote the previous post I was feeling very sorry for myself, but things are much better this week. I am glad to say that everyone is feeling much better and I feel that I am back on top of most of my chores.

Felix is sleeping in a much more predicable way at night, so I am having an hour or so each night to myself to stitch. I am only working on one project each week and I have put quite a few stitches into the Blackbird Designs Mystery Sampler #3.

I recently won a whole lot of stash on the Samplers & Santas blog. Marly sent me a box absolutely stuffed full of lovely items. I spent a whole day playing with all this stash and it was so much fun. I took them all out again yesterday and had another play with everything.

I am happy to say that my two missing parcels finally turned up after waiting for more than a month. I purchased some lovely HDF silks and a whole stack of fabric. Now that I have a little stitching time, I need to finish a few WIPs before I start anything new. Having to wait is killing me, but I have a large enough WIP list for the moment.

As the title says, Aurelia turned five this last week. We had a birthday party for her on Sunday which went quite well. The theme was 'The Octonauts' which is a kids cartoon and she wanted a cake of the main character 'Captain Barnacles'. As usual, I made the cakes and my DH did the shaping and icing. I think he did a fantastic job considering he only worked from a screen shot from the cartoon.

It's my birthday on Sunday, so I wonder if this year I will receive any stitching stash, we will see. That's all for me, so I will leave you with some photos from the party.

Happy birthday Aurelia and Suzanne! Presumably Aurelia will be off to school now, will she? Your DH did a fab job of the cake!

Glad to hear you are feeling happier. I'm sure having those three gorgeous faces about helps cheer you up no end.

Woah, that's lots of great stash you received. Lucky you!

5? How did that happen? WHEN did that happen? LOL

Congratulations to everyone!

Life will settle down, take it from one who knows. Take lots of photographs so that you can look back and remember - and laugh. Enjoy the ride! In a few short years the kids will be bringing home significant others and then little ones of their own.

Hugs to one and all.

A very happy birthday to Aurelia! I must have missed your last few posts somehow :(

Felix is absolutely precious. What a beautiful family you have there. I miss having a little cooing bundle. My baby just celebrated his 25th birthday this month! Time flies...squeeze him while you can.

Oh my what winnings you have there. I would have spent many hours running my fingers through it as well. Lucky girl!

So glad you're feeling better, Suzanne--young mothers always have ups and downs. Raising children is just plain hard work!! Even now, with my sons all grown and gone, I still have worries now and then about them :)

Hope your birthday is special and I can tell by the smile on her face that Aurelia had a grand time--she is just sparkling!!

Love your stitching, too, and your lovely stash from Marly.

I popped over to look at your blog after you joined mine. What an absolutely beautiful family you have. Please don't give yourself a hard time over things not done, just enjoy those children, this is such a precious time and it will be gone too soon. Irene xxx

Happy birthday to Aurelia! Happy birthday to you! :)

I'm glad that your packages showed up! Love the WIP!
I am glad that Felix is sleeping in a regular pattern now and that you're able to have a few moments to yourself. I think that makes all the difference in the world, to remember that there is a you in between all the mommying, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and so on. Hang in there and enjoy--they grow up so quickly.

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy belated birthday to Aurelia (love the cake!) and to you.

I'm so glad that you are feeling a bit better - everyone needs a pity party once in a while, and it sounds like you had an excellent reason for one!
